Keeping things fresh and exciting for the ever-evolving party crowd is a challenge that the night scenes in town face. However, with the leading trademark of Malaysia’s #1 Superclub. Zouk KL has done it again by proving to party-goers from all around that they still hold that energy to wow spectators with their events and ingenuity to the music scene.
Zouk KL’s motto has always been One World, One Music, One Tribe, One Dance. This 2018, they advanced with an additional ‘ONE KINGDOM’ into their ZoukIN theme, as they believe that music is the greatest communication in the world. With this mantra in mind, the team at Zouk KL collaborated with Wired Music Week and teamed up with ZoukIN headliners Dimatik and Maddix to conduct a music production masterclass.
The Superclub’s first ever music production masterclass was held the day before the official ZoukIN party at Apex Lounge with a full attendance of over 50 students. From beginners to seasoned DJs, everyone was enthusiastic to see what Dimatik and Maddix had to offer. It was an engaging class that ended with many aspiring DJs chatting with the music producers on advice and pointers on their music style. There was much feedback on how the masterclass was rather insightful and many were fortunate to be able to attend such function.
“The initiative by Zouk KL is really a great start ... We also feel grateful that [they] got us involve as part of the event. With such educational activities, I believe we can improvise the current music community,” said the founder of Wired Music Week – John Beh.
August 3, 2018 saw the revival of ZoukIN, Malaysia’s biggest indoor music festival. Held annually and proven a success for three years in a row now. With Zouk KL’s team all hand on deck running at full speed and a full house by midnight, party animals were ready to turn up the hype with their favorite DJs from each respective rooms.
Four stages at Zouk KL was transformed into different styles of their own with a hint of tribal touch. Zouk Mainroom was the power house where we hosted all the headliners. Dubbed as Excalibur, the LED and laser lights made Maddix, Heatbeat, and Dimatik’s show even more energetic and compelling as everyone danced at the same beat and rhythm. Harddance, EDM, trance, and psy-trance lovers packed the room full and everyone was loving every drop of music.
Terra Nova was Phuture’s name of the night, as the room welcomed DJ Nana and Kiyoto from Japan. It brought a whole new vibe and energy all the way from the land of the rising sun to the crowd and atmosphere. The Leng Sisters alongside local DJ Alexis Grace and DJ LP from Thailand admitted full-on girl power to Paradise in Velvet Underground. Enhancing the sophisticated vibe of the room, these female DJs sure brought their A-game to ZoukIN last Friday night! Last but not least, Imperial also known as Dome for the night acted as the friendly battleground for our resident DJs versus our friends from Singapore – Lenerd and Styluxtakut.
Needless to say the night was filled with jam-packed fun and good vibes, DJs going full throttle ahead with their best mixes and emcees hyping up the party, as the crowd goes wild. Zouk KL will be looking forward to more events like these in time to come.
