The German techno producer Paul Kalkbrenner is not just a famous musician — he’s also a movie star (“Berlin Calling,” 2008) and a folk hero, having taken his minimal electronic compositions from the Berlin underground to million people. Kalkbrenner watched as East Berlin became a non controlling playground with Techno music becoming a way of expression for many which inspired the young Kalkbrenner with his friends to DJ at local youth clubs. Very quickly Paul was either DJ’ing or obsessively collecting music as electronic dance music’s first tidal wave spilled over dance floors in Berlin’s legendary clubs. Paul's productions are mainly inspired by his personal and emotional experiences in life, something that can be spotted in this track full of unpredictable emotions. ‘Part Three’ is a typically triumphant number with steady crescendos, vocal samples, euphoric yet subtle synths and a propulsive groove. Paul takes a slightly more eclectic approach, beginning with grooves that recall old-school, sounding wonderfully expressive: these are the perfect conditions for a vibrant and close knit underground scene to grow and thrive. @2018 DJ MAG MALAYSIA
