Surely a highlight of 2019’s release calendar for trance - and music - fans around the world, ‘Sound Advice: Chapter Two’ is the stunning new long player from UK producer Ben Gold, out for worldwide release today on Armada Music.

Beautifully produced, thoughtfully compiled and breathtakingly daring in its ability to roar from instant anthems through to sublime orchestral pieces, ‘Sound Advice: Chapter 2’ is the work of an artist utterly confident in the studio and completely in tune with the dance floor.

‘Sound Advice: Chapter 2’ is the follow on from the 2018 first edition of Gold’s ‘Sound Advice’ series and marks his return to the club and festival sound he is revered for.

“‘Chapter 1’ of ‘Sound Advice’ was based around the concept of live instruments,” Gold said from his home base in Amsterdam. “Every record had a live instrument in it. For ‘Chapter 2’ I’ve gone back to the dance floor with some incredible new talent featuring across the new tracks. It’s a format that works really well for me and really gives me creative freedom to produce and evolve and explore sound without being restricted. I’ve been road testing the music out on tour and the reactions have been beyond anything I anticipated so it’s looking good, for sure.”

Opening up the album is Gold’s current, critically acclaimed single ‘The City Sleeps Tonight’. Dynamic, driving and at times ethereal, this is classic vocal trance at its finest, setting the tone for what’s to come. Carrying on the melodic vibe is HVNNAH collaboration ‘Come Home’, a beautifully positive, upbeat track infused with celebratory pianos, bouncing synths and the kind of breakdowns that produce a sea of hands in the air.

If ‘Come Home’ is light and airy, ‘Why You EI’ is the kind of electronic destroyer that DJs the world over will be dropping. Undulating instrumentals, rivers of synths and huge fluctuations between light and dark sections are masterfully tied together by one relentless rhythm that acts as a spine to the track. The energy continues with Gold’s second single to be released from the album earlier this year, ‘Sapphire (Recut)’. An instant hit on Garuda Music back in 2010, Gold breathed new life into the cut for 2019, “radiating power and brilliance”.

The mark of any album that raises the bar is the artist’s willingness to throw a curveball into the mix and with the Ruben De Ronde and Louise Rademaker single ‘Ghost’, Gold does exactly that. Rademaker’s sultry vocal is teased by the duo across sublime strings and elegant percussion. De Ronde and Gold show a real understanding of just how emotively powerful trance can be when in the hands of two masters of the genre - the world can surely look forward to one hell of a remix package in the not too distant future.

Working with Sheridan Grout and Fahjah with Julia Ross on vocals, ‘Take Me To Heaven’ is Gold back in clubbing territory once again. The echoing top line lifts the track up to the rafters, rolling arpeggios thundering towards an almighty drop that propels the track over the edge. Teaming up with After Midnight, the album’s penultimate track ‘Step Inside’ is a true powerhouse track, layer upon layer of synths and percussion creating a riot of dance floor energy.

Finally, Gold teams up with fellow icon Richard Durand for what must be the most spine-tingling, goosebump-inducing track from the entire album. From the second it drops, ‘A Thousand Times’ is proper, euphoric, flawless trance that harks back to the genre’s heighday. Two producers at the height of their powers, this is absolute pure gold and leaves the listener begging for more.

‘Sound Advice: Chapter 2’ is nothing short of a classic artist album that will cement Ben Gold’s status as one of the real legends of trance music. Fans who fall in love with the LP will be able to catch him live across the remainder of 2019 and through into 2020, where singles from the album are sure to take pride of place in his electrifying shows.

NERVOUS RECORDS - SEPTEMBER 20th 2019
Slovenian rising star Ian Sound drops his incredible new single ‘Fake Records’ on NYC imprint, Nervous Records today.

Bursting with groove and a timeless old school sound, ‘Fake Records’ is undoubtedly going to have dance floors jumping through to the early hours. The track serves up a hefty bass-line and rolling drum beats throughout, every sound fusing perfectly with the Hip-Hop influenced vocal sample and classic break down that resonates with the world of 80’s Chicago style house.

Sound explained “After the release of my first track 'Wiggity Wack' I was searching for my next inspiration. I was listening to some old school Hip Hop and  Dead Prez’s track - Hip Hop, came on, as soon as I heard the vocal, I immediately knew that this was the sample that I had to work around. I love producing tracks that include old school break-beats, Hip-Hop vocals, groovy bass lines and tight hi-hats,  you’ll find all of these elements in ‘Fake Records’. The track was so much fun to make and I feel it fits my personality and style perfectly.’”

Sound holds a residency at STUK, Slovenia where he has played alongside names such as UMEK and Mike  Vale. The residency at the Maribor club has lead to numerous appearances at venues and festivals across the nation, joining the same stage as artists such as Joris Voorn & Klingande, including a landmark performance this summer at Slovenia’s biggest festival Stellarbeat.

His profile rapidly rising beyond the borders of Slovenia and across the European circuit, Ian Sound is the first to be selected for The Mother Lode’s ‘Emerging Artist’ programme. With recent releases on Lapsus Music & Kubu and another release imminent for the UK’s Shanghaied label, this promising young artist is proving to be one of the most exciting names coming up through the hotly contested tech-house ranks.

AMF is set to make history this October, as the festival gears up for its greatest edition yet during Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). The biggest indoor rave of the night has officially revealed its full 2019 lineup and an all-star selection of the world's greatest DJs will be heading to the Dutch capital of Amsterdam on 19 October, as AMF prepares to unite fans from all over the world once again in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. AMF 2019 will bring together: Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Coone, David Guetta, Don Diablo, Jonas Blue and Tiësto as well as a special return of its world-renowned II=I concept, which sees two major artists go back to back for a unique performance. This year's edition will see Timmy Trumpet and W&W team up for a high-power set that will go down in history as one of the most iconic performances AMF has ever seen.

Swedish progressive house maestro Alesso is set to bring his own signature sound to AMF. Having made a name for himself through his unmatched production ability, he is responsible for many of the industry's most iconic hits. The undisputed king of trance Armin van Buuren will also be making his return to AMF this year. He holds the title as the artist who has topped DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll more times than anyone else, a testament to his far-reaching influence and dedicated fanbase. French EDM megastar David Guetta is also set to take to the revered AMF stage. The star reigned as the world's No.1 DJ in 2011, and has further cemented his position as one of the most prolific artists globally, having sold over nine million albums and thirty million singles worldwide. Global dance music icon Tiësto is making his long-awaited return to the AMF stage and the Dutch Grammy winner is truly ready to return in incredible style. His unparalleled ability to deliver an energy-fueled performance has made him one of the most highly-awaited performers at this year's edition of AMF.

Dutch home-grown talent Don Diablo will be making his highly-anticipated return to AMF. The future house pioneer's extensive discography has allowed him to build a global reputation as one of the industry's most accomplished artists. Also joining this year's all-star billing is hardstyle prodigy Coone who was named the highest ranking hardstyle artist in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll, and he has continued to grow in popularity ever since. British sensation Jonas Blue is also performing at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. With almost 7.5 billion streams and 40 million singles sold, he is certainly a force to be reckoned with. The 5 x BRIT Award nominee has continued to make his mark during 2019.

At each edition, AMF's II=I concept sees two major artists join forces for a unique B2B performance. II=I offers fans the rare opportunity to see some of the world's most iconic artists combine their talents for a one-off performance. This year's II=I set will see Australian powerhouse Timmy Trumpet join forces with dynamic Dutch duo W&W. The artists are set to combine their talents for what is envisioned to be one of the most ferocious performances in AMF history. The supporting artist this year is another Dutch talent, Mike Williams, who will be joined by ZAWDI MC.

Every year, AMF also hosts the crowning of the world's number one DJ in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll. Previous editions have seen the likes of Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hardwell and Armin van Buuren receive the coveted award.  As an undisputed highlight of ADE, AMF has built a reputation as one of the most outstanding events in the world. With such a stellar selection of artists due to take to the stage at AMF this year, tickets are expected to sell at an unprecedented rate.
AMF will take place in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on 19th October from 21:00-06:00. Last remaining tickets are available now, and are expected to sell quickly. Tickets for AMF 2019 are available here.
