Deadmau5 turned his hotel room into an impromptu workshop on Sunday evening to troubleshoot technical issues with his Cube 2.1 live show, after news of problems during his Merriweather Post Pavilion performance on Saturday night.
You can see the Instagram post showing the impromptu workshop in Deadmau5’s hotel room below. As EDM in DC reported via Twitter, the set in Columbia, MD, cut out twice; each time in excess of 10 minutes. Explaining the issue was rooted in excessive bass vibrations shaking a cable loose, the fix was relatively easy for the technically-savvy producer. Deadmau5 replied to EDM in DC’s tweet in good spirits though. He said, “Most people usually sh*t their pants when this happens. We sucked it up and got it workin!” Last week (6th April), Deadmau5 revealed that he will join Eric Prydz at his Hï Ibiza residency for two exclusive dates on the White Isle this summer. That was after Deadmau5 pulled an outrageous prank on fans at his NYC show at the Hammerstein Ballroom over the previous weekend (4th April). Deadmau5 debuted his Cube 2.1 live show on 29th March at the Polaris Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. Check out the impromptu workshop in Deadmau5’s hotel room below.
Jon Bellion rose to stardom with “All Time Low” in 2015, and now BOXINLION, the collaborative side project between Boxinbox and Lionsize, has delivered an explosive remix of the young rapper’s most popular track.
These two have been on fire as BOXINLION lately, dropping remixes of The Chainsmokers’ “Something Like This”, “Paris” and “Setting Fires” and releasing their original, the trumpet synth-backed “Black and White,” via the popular independent label Lowly Place. BOXINLION’s “All Time Low” remix combines the haunting serenade of the mellow original with a forceful future-bass drop that, layered over chops of Bellion’s vocals, is a chilling, but melodic ode to loneliness that makes you simultaneously want to dance and text your ex. While the remix sheds the emotional vibe the original inspires, the pair’s utilization of Bellion’s vocals in the build and in tandem with the explosive drop provide an upbeat take on one of the most popular songs off The Human Condition. Be sure to be on the lookout for what this dynamic duo drops next!
