Rounding off a monster week of singles and an incredible live show at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Tiësto unveils his latest EP, I Like It Loud. Featuring collaborations with artists from the talent collective at Tiësto’s label, Musical Freedom, I Like It Loud is an explosive body of work, brimming with festival bangers.
First up is the title track, I Like It Loud, a thrilling re-work of the 1997 definitive track by Marshal Masters feat. The Ultimate MC. Collaborating with fellow Dutch producer/DJ John Christian, Tiësto reimagines the classic track bringing a whole new dimension, perfect for the club big rooms.
Dawnbreaker by Tiësto & Russian duo Matisse & Sadko is an epic house track with a progressive build and beats to stomp to and see the dawn in with. Penultimate track Coming Home sees Mesto join forces with Tiësto on this masterful dance hit, which has summer written all over it.
Bringing the EP to a stunning close is Tiësto’s track with MOTi, Break The House Down. Having previously collaborated together on their remix of Lean On, as well as Blow Your Mind and House of Now, Tiësto and MOTi have now created an even bigger beast with this track, complete with samples of ethereal choral chanting.
No doubt, this pioneering EP featuring some of the most exciting headliners out there sets the pace for this summer’s festivals – and the rest of the year.
I Like It Loud EP by Tiësto is OUT NOW on Musical Freedom.
The German techno producer Paul Kalkbrenner is not just a famous musician — he’s also a movie star (“Berlin Calling,” 2008) and a folk hero, having taken his minimal electronic compositions from the Berlin underground to million people.
Kalkbrenner watched as East Berlin became a non controlling playground with Techno music becoming a way of expression for many which inspired the young Kalkbrenner with his friends to DJ at local youth clubs. Very quickly Paul was either DJ’ing or obsessively collecting music as electronic dance music’s first tidal wave spilled over dance floors in Berlin’s legendary clubs.
Paul's productions are mainly inspired by his personal and emotional experiences in life, something that can be spotted in this track full of unpredictable emotions.
‘Part Three’ is a typically triumphant number with steady crescendos, vocal samples, euphoric yet subtle synths and a propulsive groove.
Paul takes a slightly more eclectic approach, beginning with grooves that recall old-school, sounding wonderfully expressive: these are the perfect conditions for a vibrant and close knit underground scene to grow and thrive.

Multi-GRAMMY nominated singer/songwriter/producer Charlie Puth has teamed up with one of his music idols for the timely and moving track "Change (feat. James Taylor)," available now via all DSPs. Puth debuted the track this past Saturday at March For Our Lives Los Angeles in solidarity with the national March For Our Lives that took place in Washington, D.C. on the same date (watch).
From James Taylor: "Mr. Puth and I spent an excellent afternoon at Conway Studios in Hollywood this past January. It was a delight to work with such a gifted fellow musician and I'm so excited to finally see the release of the finished piece. Thanks, Charlie, for making a place for me on your beautiful new album. I can't wait for people to hear it..."
From Charlie Puth: "Recording with James Taylor was a dream come true. He's the reason why I write music and it was an absolute honor to work with him. But performing "Change" for the first time ever at March For Our Lives after meeting Mia and Hayley [two students from Parkland, FL], and feeling all of that emotion from the tens of thousands of people who came out to support them is also something that I'll never forget."
March For Our Lives is a student-led campaign to demand an end to the epidemic of mass school shootings and prioritize the lives of young people nationwide. Over 2 million student organizers and marchers gathered around the country this past weekend to march in solidarity with students in Florida, Washington D.C. and across the nation to demand an end to gun violence in our schools and communities.

A welcome return to the Circus imprint, one of East Canada’s rising stars CRaymak saw a stream of releases with the label last year culminating in his Abstraction EP, which dropped to huge plaudits in October. Now he’s back with killer collaboration with Seattle’s SHARPS and Milkwaukee-based rapper Von Alexander.
Abstraction saw support from Excision, Snails, Delta Heavy, Flux Pavilion, Loadstar and more. It delivered a vision of CRaymak’s blend of dark and light, showcasing an exceptional talent for sound design within his ability to deliver the highest level of musicality. So good in fact that one of the lead tracks “Play With Fire” (with Neon Dreams) has recently been nominated for best single in the East Coast Music Association awards (Canada).
After dropping the final part of the pristine First of Monthalbum project at the beginning of the year, CRaymak now teams up with SHARPS and Von Alexander to give you “Blow Up,” blending all of the CRaymak trademark sounds with the addition of SHARPS’s superb flavours and fierce vocals from Von Alexander. This one is setting up another huge year for all involved.

Swedish House Mafia’s grand return to perform Ultra Music Festival’s mainstage last night (25th March) might have just been the start of what could be a full scale reunion.
As their set ended in a eruption fireworks and dizzying lights – which you can see below – Axwell shouted into the microphone, “Ultra Miami, thank you for having us tonight. We’re Swedish House Mafia for life this time.”
This, of course, comes after weeks upon weeks of speculation as to whether such a reunion would happen or not. Over the course of a number of weeks, Reddit users went so far as to “crack the code” to prove the trio would reform while the group’s manager Amy Thomson and SHM member Steve Angello all vehemently denied the whole thing.
Hardwell and Don Diablo also weighed in on the debate, with the latter suggesting that new music was on the horizon from the EDM trio.
In the 24-hours leading up to their surprise set at the festival, friends and collaborators of the trio confirmed the initial rumours by posting images of simplified SHM logos spray painted around Miami on Instagram.
This, in addition to the fact that the streaming angle of their set was ominously distant, suggests that this was perhaps just the tip of the iceberg in what could end up being something much grander. DJ Mag will keep you updated as we learn more (if there is more...).
Swedish House Mafia reunited after a five-year hiatus this evening (Sunday 25th March) to close out Ultra Music Festival’s 20th anniversary celebrations in Miami.
The famous trio, consisting of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello, played the final set on the main stage during Ultra’s third day, opening the set with their mega-hit ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’. It’s been five years since the Swedish DJs played together as a group, with the trio playing the final performance of their ‘One Last Tour’ shows on Ultra’s main stage back in 2010.
Rumours that SHM would reunite at Ultra have been circulating for the past few months, despite several statements denying the reunion from the group’s manager Amy Thomsonand SHM member Steve Angello.
Dutch EDM DJ Hardwell and Don Diablo also weighed in on the debate over the last seven days, while reddit users claimed to have cracked a secret code which revealed SHM as Sunday’s surprise act, plus supposed headline sets from Deadmau5 and French duo Daft Punk.
Earlier today, a reunion was all but confirmed by friends and collaborators of the groupvia Instagram, while new and simplified SHM logos have been popping up around Miami over the last 24 hours.

Six-time Grammy® nominated singer, songwriter and producer Kaskade has released his new single "Cold As Stone" featuring indie pop songstress Charlotte Lawrence.
The song follows the recent release of his full-length Christmas album late last year.
Relentlessly touring the world and playing to tens of millions of people around the globe, Kaskade has been in the trenches for over a decade. His handwriting can be read all over the history of electronic music while his influence maintains an all-time high.
Says Kaskade about the new single, "'Cold as Stone' presented itself as a sort of departure from the songs I've put out in the last while. It didn't end up being that forever-love message we'd all love to hear. Instead it's an emotional reckoning from a pretty vulnerable place. Charlotte Lawrence's voice was that perfect storm of beauty, anger and quiet strength which is a rare find. It helped paint that audio picture of falling out of love, which is painful. Even though the song is called 'Cold as Stone' it will probably make quite a few people feel exactly the opposite."
While bridging the gap between old school music purists and a new generation of music lovers, Kaskademarries genres and twists labels to stay true to his roots while pushing the boundaries of what's next.
"Cold as Stone" marks the first release from Kaskade since he inked a worldwide contract with Sony Music.
About Charlotte Lawrence
Charlotte Lawrence hides the spirit of a soulful singer-songwriter under the cover of expansive and engrossing future-facing production. She works with producers Mag & Louis that have helped craft her sound, and support her growth as both a songwriter and an artist. Charlotte's breakout independent debut single "Sleep Talking" clocked over 9 million Spotify streams in under four months, and she built a devout fan base by holding nothing back. Her follow-up track "Just The Same" leapt past the one-million mark in under a week. Her life experience thus far is nothing short of fascinating. A travel obsessive, she spent three months in France during 2017 and found the time to take in her first Italian fashion week. In the end, she's got many more surprises to come. Pop music might never be the same.
