Carnage Unveils Official Video for Brand New Steve Aoki & Lockdown Collaboration 'PLUR Genocide'27/2/2018
International DJ and producer Carnage has unveiled the official video release for his brand new track,'PLUR Genocide', a collaborative effort with Grammy-nominated international DJ and producer Steve Aoki, and Lockdown.
Taken from his upcoming Battered Bruised & Bloody album, the release is also accompanied by a worldwide tour, which will hit major international and stateside cities including Paris, France, Philadelphia, PA, London, UK, Atlanta, GA and Athens, Greece. A typically thumping mainstage-ready production blessed with the rumbling breakdown of Carnage and grammy-nominated heavyweight Steve Aoki, the official video for 'PLUR Genocide' focuses on a heaven-based battle with a series of cherubs embarking in an epic war-like battle with one another. Video directors, The Sacred Egg, gave their take on the production, adding: "From a film making perspective the track is a gift. It has a kind of gritty industrial feel about it, as well as a simplicity that we really like. We knew we wanted to create something beautiful but also aggressive. We reference scenes from renaissance paintings. But decided to evolve the visuals by modifying the cherubs giving them modern day touches such as tattoos, silver teeth and pool queues, and shot the production in Ukraine." In 2017 Carnage debuted the eagerly-awaited and critically lauded collaborative EP with Young Thug, titled Young Martha. He also introduced the world to his hip-hop persona, THIRTYRACK on the Step Brothers EP with G-Eazy, and unleashed two solo tracks, as THIRTYRACK, "Xan Man" and "Fuck N****". Additionally, in 2017 the worldwide hit, "I Like Tuh" feat. iLoveMakonnen, earned him an RIAA Gold certification and both Young Martha and Step Brothers EPs garnered over 84 million streamscollectively on Spotify alone. 'PLUR Genocide' is taken from Carnage's upcoming Battered Bruised & Bloody album, slated for release on March 2nd via his own imprint Heavyweight Records. With 2018 already shaping up to be an amazing year for the pioneering entrepreneur, Carnage will kickstart his worldwide tour on March 2nd in Philadelphia, rounding things off at the Fremont Theater, CA on April 28th. "When I See You", released via Armada Trice, explores the natural doubts that come in any relationship. Relatable and honest, it's a sweeter sort of break-up song, offering heartfelt glimmers of hope. "When I See You" certainly plays into the meaning behind his stage name. The word "MOKITA," which derives from a language called Kivila, known to be spoken in Papua New Guinea, translates loosely as "the truth we all know but agree not to talk about."
Listen to 'When I See You' Mokita flexes his piano and vocals skills on the new record, once again positioning himself as a multi-talented artist. Writing, producing, and performing almost all of his tracks, Mokita is quickly lining himself up as a triple threat to watch. American born artist, songwriter, and producer, John-Luke Carter, aka Mokita, started playing the piano at the age of six. Later on, he added the guitar to his list of skills and eventually ended up in the world of dance music production. He has quickly garnered attention for his ability to blend huge pop hooks with zen-like production. Since starting the project in 2016, Mokita has quickly gained acclaim for both his original music and remixes, including his single, "Monopoly", a collaboration with vocalist CADE, which quickly surpassed 10 million on Spotify. The follow-up track titled, "Heaven" further exemplified MOKITA's talent as a triple-threat musical creator as it was written, produced, and featured solely his vocals. Mokita has also created official remixes for Cheat Codes, Daya, Tayler Buono, Betty Who and Armin Van Buuren. His third single, titled "Goodbye" is a re-imagination of Third Eye Blind's 90's hit single, Semi-Charmed Life featured Republic Records' artist Maty Noyes and premiered on Billboard.

Balkan Bump launched to an unexpecting audience in late 2017 with his debut track “Aymo” alongside superstar collaborators Gramatik and Talib Kweli. Finding an affinity based in his own Balkan roots, Gramatik has championed the new project; debuting Balkan Bump’s first live performance at Gramatik’s anticipated NYE show at Terminal 5; taking Balkan Bump’s live show on the road for the Spring 2018 Re:Coil tour; and releasing Balkan Bump’s debut EP via his Lowtemp label imprint.
Musically, Balkan Bump is a fusion of live instruments, world influences and lush electronic production. His debut EP flaunts experience as an instrumentalist and arranger, fusing energetic Balkan brass with heavy electronic production and hip-hop/trap influences. This thrilling blend of live brass and electronic production carries over to Balkan Bump’s live show, as he joins Gramatik to unveil his horn-infused live set to a North American audience in Spring 2018 for the Re:Coil Tour starting in February 2018. Get tickets for Re:Coil US Tour As fans of Balkan Bump and Gramatik already know, “Aymo” is the track they collaborated on and was first released back in November of 2017 on Gramatik’s “Re:Coil Part I” EP. The track was originally written by Will and Talib Kweli whom he met when they were playing alongside Pretty Lights on The Conan O’Brien show. It was then presented to Gramatik who loved it so much he wanted to put his own spin on it. Now his independent label Lowtemp will also provide a home for Will’s first EP under the Balkan Bump moniker, out in early March. In December, Will released the first single from the upcoming EP, “Irfan," that got a heavy rotation in the blogosphere and received high praises for it’s refreshing sound. The original version of “Aymo” featuring Talib Kweli is the second single off of the heavily anticipated release and it packs just as much of a punch as the previous two singles. Keeping with the theme of the self-titled EP, this one is, of course, also focused on one particular region in the south-eastern part of Europe where brass bands reign supreme on the local folk scene. Will Magid has an incredible ability to submerge himself into a different culture and come up with an interesting and fresh take on the old traditions. And this single is no exception. |
