Last month we announced the return of the White Party to Bangkok after four years (more info here), on a promise with some more detailed information on the events line-up to follow.
Well, here it is, the line up is out and the response is mixed - but we are right up for digging out the white rags and brushing up to what is going to the largest event to bounce through BITEC.
Showering the whitewash of people destined to attend the aptly themed Rise edition of Sensation’s White Party is a crew of House Heavies sure to take the intensely growing scene in the city to the next level.
The who is who of the dance collective will be pleased to know that Who is Jody will be launching the night followed by Dirty South then, synonymous with the parties global movement, Mr. White will bring it up a notch. MC Gee is going to be on hand to escalate things with his lyrical wizardry as the night continues to build into an unforgettable one for all those lucky enough to grab the limited entrance tickets available.
Not to disappoint the home crowd, favourites here in Asia will continue to lift the vibe and have all those white booties bouncing with a helping of bass from KO:YU, Dannic and Sam Felt. Then our very own top 20 Dj Dash Berlin will be bringing this housey hoedown to close seeing out the hardcore among you after a whole 8 hours of all things house.
It isn’t all about the music either, sponsor Heineken has a unique little trick up their sleeves also, just add a little extra flare to the night on the 29th. They will be showcasing their new Heineken® Star Hive concept which basically translates into some magic of their own as they offer you to charge your devices via “Star Hive Sound Recycle” - a system that converts the sound waves produced by the earth-shattering array of speakers into electricity - yes, you did read right, they convert the music of your favourite DJ’s into electricity for your mobi (just wish Moby was there - Moby charged my mobi…). Personally gotta have me some of that and if that was enough, for all of you with deep enough pockets, the Platinum Decks get some personal styling before the event by the team from Smileclub Thailand - so you don’t even have to think a single out of place hair, just rock up in those whites and the artisans will do the rest - nice touch.

That is to say, the Future Rising, as Mixcloud host a collection of events across the continent in partnership with the W Hotel group - world renown for its fashionista approach to the hotelier trade.
The partnership began a couple of years ago back in 2016 with Mixcloud and W shining the spotlight on a mix match of local DJs, Producers, Singers and MC’s in a number of cities across the European continent and mainland Russia and now they have turned the sights to Asia.
Launching their tour of the continent in Goa this year (more info below), their second stop just so happened to be a little closer to home - Bangkok. Luckily for mio and you lot, of course, I happened to fall upon an advert for the event when loading up my mixes to the cloud for my regular punters to grab a download or two. As soon as I was swung over to the page I just knew you avid readers out there would want to know about this - plus I felt it was an opportunity not to be missed, being a mad muso myself. And trust me, it blew my mind.
Bangkok is kind of known for its Techno and Hip Hop scenes on the global stage and there was a fair slice of both but there was so much more, enough food for any appetite on the dancefloor. Being kinda eclectic in my tastes, it ticked all the boxes and so much more.
The night kicked off with a workshop, showcasing a local DJ (name???), then an upcoming producer - Neeno - coupled with a trio of MC’s who laid down a track for us all with a description on how it was put together - seriously interesting and insightful stuff, especially for anybody considering taking to production themselves, plus a real nice personal touch by the organisers, opening the window into the world behind the glitz and glam.
After the workshop and some artistic entertainment of a different nature, the party moved down to the dancefloor where that night took flight. Or at least, the up and coming rising talents of Bangkok took flight as the large turnout took to burning up the dancefloor.
The party started with the wheels of steel spinning to a Hip Hop beat as DJ Cash took the lead, warming up the atmosphere and injecting life into the crowd, Cash was swiftly followed by a live performance from a collection of MCs who - although this is an dance music mag - blew the roof right off and had the guests going wild, setting a good tone but making it a tough act to follow for any young and upcoming talent looking to gain a slice of the limelight. However, when the dance aficionados took the reigns, the night continued on an upward trend.
Once the EDM began, the night went that much wilder as the featured DJs bashed out a unique collection of styles from Deep to Bigroom and all the bits in between. Along with the crowd at the Woobar, I was going mental on the dancefloor to the exceptional skills of the young stars in the making. So much so n fact, when I approached them later they weren’t sure if they were to take me seriously or not after watching me stack my boxes in front of the booth (big fish, little fish, cardboard box)…. The aptly named Woobar knew before we all showed up, as Woo became the key phrase of the night, thanks to the dope skills flashed by the new kids on the block, booth, er, stage thing. Boasting some totally out there beats, each Jock gave us the right amount of flavour of each of their individual styles whilst keeping us bopping to the rhythm with wicked selections of familiar tunes, remixed of course. All credit to Eey A.K.A Deep Dark Duck, Memento and Wanton Witch for keeping us all on our toes, heels, knees and elbows for a jumping night.
On a personal note, I would seriously watch out across Bangkok and beyond to the wider continent for Wanton Witch, that girl has serious style and a talent to match - the most unique out of the sets and an eclectic performance of artistic prowess. From start to finish she had her claws locked right into the crowd's vibe and without hesitation, she spun up an ecstatic atmosphere which, I might add, was irresistible to most of the party goers in the Woo.
After it all came to a climax, I, among the rest of the peeps who attended, were left longing for more and lucky for us, it ain’t over yet. Mixcloud will be holding a second event in the W Hotel Bangkok, with curator Nick Supreda of Blaq Lyte, just before they make the jump to their next stop on the Asian tour.and on that note, Mixlcoud will be taking the tour to W Hotel Hong Kong then on to W Shanghai to complete their tour of Asia and the first year of their exploits here in their quest for more musical magic.
There is sure to be a new wave of talent hitting the block after all this if the Bangkok and Goa editions are anything to go by, so why not check it out yourself on the links below? You will find audio uploads of the live sets, booking details on the upcoming events and ton more info on the rising stars themselves. I know that I’ll be keeping my eyes and ears (plus a mountain of heart), on this as it progresses and who knows, it could be you who gets your shot the next time they swing by this neck of the … jungle

Look out for this triple collaboration! Felguk, Joy Corporation and Dazzo have teamed up to remake Tiga's classic "You Gonna Want Me," in a new version sung by Joy Corporation itself. The track has gained a powerful bassline and more energy for the dancefloor.
"This track was made with 8 hands (laughs). Four collaborators, each contributing in their own way. The result was a re-reading of a house classic with a current style that smashes on the dancefloor"- Gustavo Rozemthal, one of the members of Felguk.
"You Gonna Want Me" was released last Friday (05/25) by HUB Records and immediately received massive support from Spotify, being featured on one of the biggest electronic music playlists, the "EDM Room", and gaining the 12th position in the disputed “Release radar”.
"I'm very excited about this song, because its repercussion in shows is being amazing, even before it is released. People are loving it! I’m very happy with that! "- Felipe Sabbá, Joy Corporation

Flaremode has been on fire this year. Most notably, they’ve held a residency at Billboard Radio, hosting a variety of sessions with special guests Martin Garrix, and David Guetta, to name just a few. The Greek duo MAD M.A.C have also been quite busy both in the studio and on the road, and are already slotted for a highly anticipated show at Tomorrowland this year!
Both artists are no strangers to the prestigious label, Smash The House, as they’re featured with an official remix, a mighty one that is, to Angemi & Re Bel’s hit single, ‘Show Your Flame.’
Picking up the pace from the original, the guys produced a house-centric anthem that is going to shake dance floors all summer long. Re Bel’s beautiful vocals ride forefront during each breakdown, immersing you with a sense of euphoria as the track explodes into a colorful, electrifying drop with melodies that will have you smiling the whole way through.
Mad M.A.C & Flaremode prove to be quite the dynamic team and created an incredible remix, one that deserves to be in your playlist this summer!
